Our five-day program ranges in age from two years through five years of age. This program focuses on preparing the children through age appropriate curriculum materials to encourage growth through social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Children learn at their own pace while the educator guides them with interactive experiences and activities each day.
Every morning we will begin our day together for chapel. The children sing songs, pray to God, and listen to Bible lessons on Tuesdays and Thursdays. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays we will read books about good character traits such as sharing, kindness, listening, and being gentle. It is a great way to begin the day opening God’s word and understanding God is with us at school and at home and everywhere we go. The Beginner’s Bible is used to guide our Bible lessons.
Each month we incorporate various themes teaching the alphabet, numbers, colors, and shapes. Themes such as The Farm, Insects, Pumpkins, Community Helpers, All About Me, Children Around the World expose the children to a diverse range of topics and concepts they will experience once they enter kindergarten. We stress the importance of manners, sharing with others, taking turns, and following directions are important foundations for their future interaction and learning throughout their life.
Once a week we have a music class with a teacher to go along with our daily music in the classrooms. Our music teacher introduces musical instruments and musical notes to the children. The creative movement helps them to exercise their bodies and gets the wiggles out.
Also, one day a week we have added yoga to our curriculum. It is our hope the children will learn techniques in concentration, relaxation and calmness through flexibility, strength, coordination, and body awareness. Teaching children to take deep breaths will help them slow down their racing thoughts to calm their mind and body.
As you pack your child's lunch REMEMBER we are a NUT FREE school.
